Environmental Benefits of a Bidet
The average person uses over 57 sheets of toilet paper per day. That equates to over 20,000 sheets of toilet paper per year. Over 5 million tons of tissue grade paper such as toilet paper, and facial tissue is produced by the United States annually. By using a bidet and its warm air dryer, we can significantly reduce the amount of toilet paper that we use.
The Water Issue
The amount of water that is used per cycle is 1/8th of a gallon. The average toilet uses around 4 gallons of water per flush. When selecting a bidet, make sure that you choose one with an automatic function. This limits the usage of water and helps the user by not having to guess when he or she is finished using the bidet. An automatic feature usually last for 60 seconds and still only uses 1/8th gallon of water.
Longevity of Septic Tanks
Although all toilet paper is biodegradable, toilet paper still causes a problem for many septic tanks. By using a bidet not only will you help by preserving trees but you will also help prolong the life of your septic system.
